The role involves delivering high-quality practical and theoretical field guide training across multiple campuses nationwide. It offers variety travel and the opportunity to shape the next generation of professional tour guides within a structured and reputable training environment. Knowledge and experience in game farm or farm management particularly for general maintenance purposes will be considered a valuable advantage.
Key Responsibilities:
- Facilitate both practical and theoretical field guide training sessions in line with national qualification standards (NQF2 or higher).
- Assess mentor and develop aspiring guides to reach professional competency levels.
- Rotate between campuses to support training operations and ensure consistency of standards.
- Maintain discipline professionalism and a supportive learning environment for all students.
- Conduct evaluations compile reports and ensure compliance with training and safety protocols.
- Participate in curriculum updates training workshops and continuous professional development activities.
Requirements
Requirements:
- Relevant guiding qualification (NQF2 minimum) and valid PDP First Aid and DEAT registration.
- Proven experience as a Field Guide Trainer or Senior Field Guide.
- Strong communication and mentoring skills with a mature temperament.
- Must be fluent in Afrikaans (spoken and written) and proficient in English.
- Comfortable with extensive travel and working on a rotational schedule (3 weeks on / 1 week off).
- Passionate about nature conservation and people development.
Required Skills:
Requirements: Nature Site Guide qualification NQF Level 2 (minimum). Valid First Aid certificate. Valid Drivers License and PDP. Professional appearance and excellent communication skills. A genuine passion for wildlife conservation and guest interaction. Team player with a proactive positive attitude. Experience in a Big 5 environment will be highly advantageous.
