Third in Charge – Early Years Nursery
Are you an experienced Early Years professional ready to take the next step in your career We’re looking for a passionate and dedicated Third in Charge to join a well-established nursery in Walnut Tree Milton Keynes. This is a fantastic opportunity to play a key leadership role in a supportive high-quality setting that puts children at the heart of everything it does.
You’ll help lead the nursery team ensuring that every child receives exceptional care and education while supporting staff to reach their full potential.

Your key responsibilities
Support the day-to-day management of the nursery alongside the leadership team
Create a safe stimulating and inclusive environment that meets the needs of all children
Ensure the highest standards of care and education in line with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS)
Lead and motivate staff maintaining effective communication and positive working relationships
Support staff development through feedback guidance and individual target setting
Oversee playroom operations and assume management duties when required
Build strong professional relationships with parents and carers
Contribute to the continuous improvement of the nursery through monitoring and evaluation
Assist in maintaining budgets and resources efficiently
About you
Minimum Level 3 qualification in Early Years Education (or equivalent)
Strong knowledge of the EYFS and safeguarding requirements
Proven leadership or senior practitioner experience within an early years setting
Excellent communication organisation and team management skills
A positive hands-on attitude and passion for providing exceptional childcare
