Credit Analyst
Under the direction of the Supervisor of Credit the Credit Analyst will perform duties in support of the credit department goals and objectives including collection of customer account balances credit application processing and deduction management.
Responsibilities
- Contact customers regarding past due balances and obtain payment commitments designed to maintain the customers account at a current status.
- Access customer portals to confirm invoice receipt and payment acceptance.
- Interact with Sales and Customer Service regarding customer order status and active actions to resolve credit issues.
- Prepare regular reporting on customers with past due or restricted statuses.
- Review and process credit applications for new customers. Check credit references obtain D & B reports and trade association information.
- Recommend or approve (within established approval authorities) a credit decision on new customer applications.
- Ensure all contact and payment information for new and existing customers is correct for submission to the Master Data Department.
- Investigate customer deductions and assist in the timely resolution of pending items.
- Submit documentation on deductions to the appropriate dept. for status decisions.
- Contact customers and obtain payment for refused deductions.
- Request updated financial information in accordance with established intervals and provide analytical reviews of customer financial statements.
- Gather and provide information to the trade associations regarding customer statuses.
- All other duties as assigned.
Desired skills and experience
- High School diploma or equivalent required; bachelors degree preferred.
- 5 years experience in Credit or a similar business environment preferred.
- Minimum of 1 year experience with SAP preferred.
- Experience in Word Excel Power BI Microsoft Office Internet and related computer skills.
