Job Duties

Under general supervision performs operations specific to the manufacturing and assembly of fixed cutter drill bits including general assembly mold fabrication and brazing operations.
Grind and fill the inside of a graphite mold forming sand and clay components to form specified contours as specified by engineering design requirements.
Fabrication of sand castings to form junk slots and the fluid entry areas while using clay to form contoured waterways.
Using special equipment load bit molds with powdered metals steel blanks catalyst and flux to create desired compaction. Load/unload furnace and monitor furnace temperatures to meet process specifications.
Performs own work and provides assistance to others as directed.
Job tasks correctly performed have minimal impact upon the viability of the organization.
Error is readily ascertainable by the supervisor and can be corrected.

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent is required.
Skills are typically acquired through 2 years in Bit Fabrication experience.
Must have basic knowledge of manufacturing and shop work environments.
