Job Summary

Lighthouse Lab Services is seeking an experienced Grossing Technologist to join a busy pathology department in Mobile AL. This individual will play a key role in maintaining the accuracy efficiency and quality of specimen preparation and grossing processes that directly support diagnostic excellence.

The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented highly organized and comfortable working in a high-volume fast-paced environment while maintaining strict compliance with laboratory and safety standards.

Location Mobile AL
Shift: Monday Friday 8:00 AM 4:30 PM
Pay: $26.00 $30.00 per hour (based on experience)

Key Responsibilities

Accession and prepare surgical specimens for pathological examination.
Perform high-complexity testing in accordance with CLIA regulations.
Assist pathologists during gross examinations and cut-ins.
Maintain the gross room frozen section room and cut-in stations to ensure cleanliness and readiness.
Ensure compliance with CAP CLIA and OSHA standards and maintain all associated documentation.
Monitor and manage laboratory supplies and inventory.
Uphold a culture of quality accuracy and professionalism in all daily tasks.

Qualifications

Bachelors degree in Biology Chemistry or a related field (required).
Must meet CLIA requirements for high-complexity testing.
ASCP certification (HT or HTL) preferred.
Strong manual dexterity and attention to detail.
Proficiency with laboratory information systems and general computer applications.
Dependable self-motivated and capable of working independently with minimal supervision.
Positive professional demeanor with strong teamwork and communication skills.
