Take a tour of our campus: Department of Pharmacy consistent with the mission of Johns Hopkins Medicine places a priority on teaching research and patient care. At Johns Hopkins Hospital the department is responsible for providing acute care pharmacy services for a diverse population of medical surgical oncology and pediatric patients with additional services provided within the Johns Hopkins Outpatient Center and affiliated clinics. Within the department there are 70 acute care and primary care clinical pharmacy specialists as well as 32 general and specialized pharmacy residents.

The Clinical Pharmacist II in Pediatric Oncology provides clinical pharmacy services for pediatric oncology patients serving as the drug expert helping to manage the complex pharmacotherapy regimen of each patient. This role involves rounding with either the Pediatric Oncology Team or the Pediatric Hematopoietic Cell Transplant Team to optimize complex pharmacotherapy regimens performing medication order review and verification for pediatric oncology patients. Additional responsibilities for the position include: comprehensive medication management interdisciplinary decision making emergency code response care coordination education policy/procedure development oversight of chemotherapy production and research activities. They will provide drug information and education to patients students residents pharmacists and other health care practitioners. The work schedule is typically day shift Monday through Friday but will provide occasional weekend and evening coverage.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Current licensure as a pharmacist in the State of Maryland is required.
  • Board Certification through the Board of Pharmacy Specialties or a certification deemed appropriate for the practitioners practice setting by the Division Director is required within 2 years of the start date.
  • Hospital and departmental education requirements completed within 90 days of hire. ACLS and/or PALS certification is desired.

  • Graduation from an accredited College of Pharmacy resulting in Pharm D. or BS degree. Completion of an ASHP accredited PGY-1 residency program or equivalent experience is required.

  • Completion of an ASHP accredited PGY-2 residency program specializing in Pediatrics is preferred.
  • Minimum three years of clinical health-system experience or equivalent is required.

Salary Range: Minimum 54.59/hour - Maximum 90.15/ will be commensurate with equity and experience for roles of similar scope and responsibility.
