About You and This Role

The purpose of the Tank Maintenance Technician is to ensure proper safety maintenance testing and inspection of the portable pressurized tank fleet in Marietta. This activity is completed via using approved procedures and practices to ensure the safe completion of the tasks. The Tank Maintenance Technician will be a positive team player assisting other Tank Maintenance team members as able to help build positive team chemistry.

This role develops technical skills on the job to perform routine work activities using existing standard operating procedures. Completes assigned tasks with a close to moderate degree of supervision.

In this role you will be using standard operating procedures to complete well-defined activities to develop the technical skills required to perform routine tasks. You will need to understand how these assigned tasks relate to other jobs and be able to exchange information in routine situations within your workgroup.

It is your responsibility to use existing procedures to resolve straightforward problems with limited opportunities to independently modify procedures or work processes. You are accountable for managing your assigned tasks and the accuracy of your own work. You will receive close to moderate level of supervision and guidance in this role.

Responsibilities

• Follow established operating procedures and safety standards to ensure safe and efficient refurbishment of portable pressurized tanks.
• Follow all critical non-routine and routine work procedures and policies associated with area responsibilities.
• Successful completion of all required training.
• Meet daily demand for tanks to be refurbished.
• Operate hand tools to refurbish tanks and replace tank fittings.
• Transfer product heels from tanks to storage vessels using approved procedures.
• Perform painting of tanks.
• Stage empty refurbished tanks for production needs.
• Assure accuracy of tank tracking database and notify supervision of any anomalies per procedure.
• Perform OSHA-required equipment inspections prior to use.
• Hydrotesting of portable pressurized tanks via authorized procedures.
• Safe operation of various forklift equipment to move drums totes pressurized tanks and pallets.
• Safe operation of turret lift equipment for staging and pulling materials from racks at heights exceeding 20 feet.
• Participate in root cause investigations if unplanned events or failures occur.
• Perform daily housekeeping activities as required by Dow policy.

Qualifications

• A minimum of a High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.
• Must be capable of interfacing with a computer to input data.
• Attention to detail and data accuracy.
• Knowledge and experience working in hands on maintenance activities preferred.
• Must be able to read write speak and understand English
• Work any shift with occasional overtime as needed.
• Current valid US drivers license to drive a forklift.
• Ability to learn to operate forklift and turret lift at heights of 20 feet. 1 year experience driving forklift and turret lift at heights of 20 feet preferred.
• A minimum requirement for this U.S. based position is the ability to work legally in the United States. No visa sponsorship/support is available for this position including for any type of U.S. permanent residency (green card) process.

Physical Requirements
Able to meet the following physical demands of the job with or without reasonable accommodations.

• Wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) such as respirators protective clothing face masks goggles boots etc. The respirator will require a clean-shaven face.
• Lift (up to 50lbs) push and pull. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds will be required.
• Frequent bending reaching and lifting.
• Stand and walk for extended periods of time.
• Work at heights climb stairs and ladders. This role does involve elevated work greater than or equal to four feet above the ground. Must be able to wear and use personal protective equipment (PPE) including harnesses with a total weight capacity of 300lbs.
• Work in tight and enclosed spaces.
• No known sensitivity to chemicals.

Your Skills

• Technical and Mechanical Aptitude: Ability to operate hand tools perform hydrotesting paint tanks and safely use forklifts and turret lifts at heights over 20 feet.

• Procedure and Safety Compliance: Follows standard operating procedures and safety protocols including OSHA inspections and root cause investigations.

• Basic Computer and Data Accuracy Skills: Inputs and manages data accurately in tracking systems ensuring anomalies are reported per procedure.

• Teamwork and Communication: Supports team members and communicates effectively within the workgroup to build positive team chemistry.

• Self-Management and Accountability: Works independently with minimal supervision completes assigned tasks reliably and takes ownership of work quality.
