QC Welding Inspector (CWI or CSWIP Certified)

Job Summary:
The QC Welding Inspector will be responsible for overseeing welding operations ensuring compliance with approved procedures international codes and client specifications. The ideal candidate should possess valid CWI or CSWIP certification practical experience in the Gulf region and an in-depth understanding of welding processes NDT requirements and quality control documentation. The role demands a proactive approach to inspection quality assurance and adherence to safety and regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct welding inspections to verify compliance with WPS PQR and ITP requirements.
Review and interpret engineering drawings isometric sketches and welding symbols.
Monitor and document all welding and fabrication activities as per QA/QC plans.
Inspect weld joints consumables and base materials before during and after welding.
Ensure welders are qualified and certified according to project and client standards.
Coordinate with third-party inspectors and clients during inspection and testing stages.
Prepare and maintain daily inspection reports NDT records and welding logs.
Verify calibration status of welding and inspection equipment.
Identify non-conformances issue NCRs and ensure corrective actions are implemented.
Ensure all work adheres to ASME AWS ISO or API codes as applicable.
Participate in weld audits quality meetings and project documentation reviews.
Essential Qualifications:
Diploma or Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
Valid CWI (AWS) or CSWIP 3.1 / 3.2 certification (mandatory).
NDT Level II certification in RT UT MT PT preferred.
Minimum 5 years of experience in welding inspection preferably in Gulf projects.
Proven experience in oil & gas refinery or heavy fabrication environments.
Key Skills Required:
Strong knowledge of welding processes (SMAW GTAW GMAW FCAW) and materials.
Proficiency in interpreting WPS PQR and WPQ.
Excellent understanding of NDT methods and quality control standards.
Good report-writing documentation and communication skills.
Ability to work independently under minimal supervision.
Familiarity with client and international codes (ASME API ISO AWS).
High attention to detail safety-conscious and quality-driven mindset.
