The Patient Accounts Assistant supports the PatientAccounts Department by handling patient and vendor information answeringpatient questions and assisting with department reporting. The Assistantmaintains accurate records of interactions payments and account updatesensuring compliance with company policies and regulations.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Prepare and distribute daily departmental reportsand related information.
Make outbound callsas needed to obtain insurance information.
Provide support for incoming phone calls as required.
Ensure adherence to state and federal collections regulations as well as HIPAA
compliance.
Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
High School Diploma/GED required
Customer service experience preferred
KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Strong interpersonal skillsto effectively communicate with colleagues patients and vendors.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills including professional
telephone etiquette.
Ability to prioritize tasks and solveproblems effectively.
Proficiency in generalcomputer use includingMicrosoft Word Exceland
Outlook.
Knowledge of HIPAA regulations is preferred.
WORKING CONDITIONS
