Position Overview:
Were seeking a Driver to safely operate commercial vehicles and deliver materials between company and customer locations. The ideal candidate is safety-minded reliable and customer-focused.
Reports to: Transportation Manager
Works with: Dispatchers and Logistics Team
Key Responsibilities:
- Safely pick up transport and deliver freight between customer and company sites.
- Represent USM professionally as the primary contact with customers and the public.
- Load unload drop hook and weigh materials as needed.
- Complete all required documentation (manifests bills of lading trip sheets logs etc.) accurately.
- Communicate clearly and courteously with Dispatch team members and customers.
- Perform basic vehicle inspections and report maintenance needs.
- Comply with all DOT state and local safety regulations.
- Work flexible hours and meet delivery deadlines.
- Perform physical tasks such as lifting up to 50 lbs. climbing and manually tarping loads.
- Follow company policies safety procedures and training expectations.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 2 years of commercial driving experience (Class A or B license required).
- Experience in recycling or related industries preferred (flatbed roll-off gondola or van).
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Must pass pre-employment physical background check and all DOT standards.
- Able to drive up to 10 hours/day and 60 hours/week.
- Capable of working in varied environments (heat cold dust etc.).
- Reliable attendance and a strong safety record.
