Summary of Job Duties:

The Associate Director for Greek Housing advances the mission of the university by fostering a vibrant safe and well-maintained Greek residential community. This role directly enhances the student experience and overall campus life through strategic leadership operational management and strong partnerships with stakeholders.

Reporting to the Assistant Vice Chancellor for Greek Life the Associate Director is responsible for the administration oversight and strategic development of university-managed fraternity and sorority housing. Key responsibilities include building strong relationships with housing corporations overseeing daily operations and ensuring sound financial management of Greek housing facilities. Other responsibilities include the following:

Providing strategic and operational leadership for all university-managed Greek residential facilities.
Serving as the primary liaison with Greek Housing Corporations chapter leadership and campus partners to foster collaborative and positive relationships.
Overseeing daily housing operations including budgeting occupancy management maintenance coordination vendor relations and compliance with university local and federal health and safety regulations.
Leading long-term planning initiatives for facility use and improvements including space utilization capital projects and lifecycle planning.
Managing construction renovation maintenance housekeeping and procurement activities associated with Greek housing.
Developing and maintaining comprehensive lifecycle and capital improvement plans aligned with departmental master planning efforts.
Conducting regular assessments and inspections to identify and implement facility improvements that enhance the residential experience of fraternity and sorority members.
Managing and monitoring the annual operating budget to ensure fiscal responsibility and alignment with departmental goals.
Supervising Greek-managed housing staff including graduate assistants ensuring effective training performance management and staff development.

Regular reliable and non-disruptive attendance is an essential job duty as is the ability to create and maintain collegial harmonious working relationships with others.


Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Masters degree in a related field (e.g. Higher Education Student Affairs Health Education Business or similar) from an accredited institution of higher education

  • At least five years of professional experience working in or with Greek organizations such as employment with a fraternity/sorority headquarters or in a university housing or Greek life office

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Direct experience working in or managing fraternity or sorority housing including staff supervision

  • Experience serving in an on-call capacity for emergencies facilities issues or crisis response

  • Background in design construction or facilities management with progressive experience in housing operations maintenance or capital project oversight

Knowledge Skills & Abilities (KSAs):

  • Current knowledge of trends practices and planning/programming

  • Excellent interpersonal skills

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Problem solving and project management skills

  • Strong construction maintenance housing operations and capital project experience

  • Ability to work well with students alumni and colleagues

  • Ability to work evenings including weekends as needed to fulfill position responsibilities
