Must be available during regular business days and hours of Monday -Friday 7:30 - 5:00
POSITION SUMMARY
Awaken Las Vegas is a Bible teaching church actively engaged in regular outreach ministries special events worshipping our God equipping our Church and reaching Las Vegas. The Human Resources Administrative Assistant is responsible for assisting the Human Resources Director and supporting the administrative aspects of the department for the Church and School employees.
This role is a vital part of the daily operations and has overall responsibility for assisting with all human resources functions including but not limited to maintaining employee records recruitment coordination onboarding new hires submitting termination paperwork benefits administration and ensuring compliance with HR policies and labor laws.
KEY QUALITIES
The Human Resources Administrative Assistant will be responsible for daily interactions with members of the church and school staff vendors and applicants in accordance with Awaken Las Vegas and Awaken Christian Academy policies and procedures. The Assistant needs to be highly organized and detail-oriented to manage a large volume of information and paperwork. This position needs to be able to identify and support the resolution of employee issues and questions through effective interaction with employees. This role requires the ability to work in a fast-paced high-energy environment.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
GENERAL
  • Maintain accurate and updated employee databases and records to ensure compliance with all state and federal employment laws.
  • Provides general administrative support to the HR department including scheduling appointments answering inquiries and managing correspondence.
  • Assists with the recruitment process including screening resumes scheduling interviews coordinating with hiring managers following up with candidates and entering information into the Applicant Tracking System.
  • Creates processes and assists with the preparation of various employee forms HR documents and paperwork such as job descriptions enrollments and interviews.
  • Collaborate with the H R Director to implement HR initiatives and programs.
  • Organizes and facilitates onboarding programs for new hires ensuring they are properly introduced to the organization and its processes.
  • Maintains time and attendance tracking including ETO PTO and Vacation Leave.
  • Assists with employee benefits administration by answering employee questions coordinating open enrollment and ensuring accurate record-keeping.
  • Provides support for employee relations matters such as answering questions about policies and procedures.
  • Ensures compliance with HR policies labor laws and other legal requirements.
  • All other duties that may be assigned.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS
EXPERIENCE
  • 1 to 3 years minimum of demonstrated work experience in a n administrative or human resources position. Prior church school or nonprofit experience helpful.
  • Basic knowledge and understanding of HR policies procedures and labor laws is essential.
  • Working knowledge and experience using HR software including a Human Resources Information System and Applicant Tracking System desired but will train the right person. Paycor HRIS and ATS experience a plus.
  • Excellent organizational follow-through interpersonal written and oral communication skills.
  • Must be capable of working independently and managing multiple priorities.
  • Ability to treat confidential information with appropriate discretion.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills exceptional attention to details and ability to multi-task.
  • Microsoft Office experience specifically Outlook Word and Excel.
  • Must be able to respond calmly and make rational decisions in an ever-changing high-energy environment.
EDUCATION
  • High School diploma required.
  • Human Resources classes or certifications a plus.
