The Externals Group are partnering with a well-established commercial roofing contractor seeking a detail-oriented and organized Staff Accountant to join their Finance Department. This role offers stability growth and the chance to work in a fast-paced environment with a supportive team.

The Role:

As a Staff Accountant you will play a key role in managing financial operations including accounts payable accounts receivable progress billings insurance and mortgage claims and reporting. Youll ensure accurate and timely financial processes support management in strategic decisions and maintain compliance across all accounting functions.

A Day in the Life:

Process accounts payable and company credit card transactions accurately and on time.
Enter invoices receipts and change orders into financial systems ensuring proper documentation and approval.
Generate progress billings and manage accounts receivable for multi-phased projects.
Review insurance and mortgage claims coordinating with carriers to facilitate payment.
Reconcile project costs and update financial tracking systems daily.
Prepare monthly income statements revenue entries and review Profit & Loss and Balance Sheet reports with management.
Maintain organized records and ensure compliance with financial policies and procedures.

What Youll Bring:

Bachelors degree in Accounting Finance or related field (preferred).
2 years of experience in accounting bookkeeping or related roles.
Proficiency with accounting software such as Sage Acculynx and Microsoft Office 365.
Strong analytical organizational and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
