WHY JOIN THE TEAM

As a Data Analyst apprentice (DAA26) at the BBC youll join a dynamic collaborative team where youre learning goes far beyond the basics. Youll work on meaningful projects that shape the BBCs future while developing cutting-edge skills in areas like machine learning data visualisation and ethical data use. With a culture that values growth creativity and real-world impact youll gain both professional confidence and a clear path toward a successful data career.

As part of the BBCs Experimentation Team youll get hands-on experience with A/B testing and experiment analysis learning how to use statistics to support product decision-making. Youll join a supportive team who love sharing knowledge and developing new skills making this a great area to start your career in Data.

YOUR KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND IMPACT

Asa Data Analyst apprentice this is brilliant opportunity to learn grow and contribute you will:

  • A/B testing (also known as split testing).
  • Experimental Design.
  • Statistical Analysis.
  • Communicating Insights.
  • Data Processing with Python Pandas.
  • Data Visualisation.
  • Power BI and Tableau.
  • Data Science for Business.
  • Databases & Structured Query Language (SQL).
  • Text Mining Software and Platforms.
  • Introduction to Machine Learning.
  • Time Series Analysis.
  • Data Privacy Ethics & Regulations.

Youll study for your industry recognised apprenticeship qualification learning both on and off the means youll spend at least one day a week studying for a Level 4 Data Analyst qualification from our external Learning Provider. You will be supported with career development employability training and networking opportunities to help you take your next step within the BBC or elsewhere in the industry.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

To be eligible for an apprenticeship at the BBC you must:

  • Be 18 years old or over by the time the apprenticeship begins in September 2026
  • Have lived in the UK continuously for the last 3 years prior to the start of the apprenticeship
  • Be legally eligible to work full-time in the UK for the entire duration of the apprenticeship
  • Not currently be enrolled in another apprenticeship programme whether with the BBC or another organisation
  • Not have completed or hold qualifications in the apprenticeship subject at the same or higher level.

  • Have maths and English GCSE at Grade 4/C or above or National 5 (Scotland) at C or equivalent qualification.
  • Have achieved or expected to achieve by the start of the scheme A Level/Higher Maths.
