The Senior Manager of Data Center Design and Construction will lead a team of engineers to design build and maintain world-class data centers. Responsibilities:
- Lead the design and construction of data center projects ensuring alignment with business objectives and customer requirements.
- Manage the end-to-end project lifecycle including planning design construction commissioning and handover.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including IT operations and customer service to ensure seamless project execution.
- Develop and lead a team of field engineers to maintain data center SLAs and provider maintenance schedules.
- Develop and maintain project schedules budgets and resource plans.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards regulations and best practices.
- Identify and mitigate project risks resolving issues promptly to keep projects on track.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement innovation and excellence within the team.
- Provide leadership mentorship and professional development opportunities for team members.
- Lead innovative design techniques to enhance data center efficiency and performance.
- Manage and coordinate the efforts of electrical and mechanical engineers to ensure the successful integration of all systems.
- Oversee the implementation of cutting-edge technologies and best practices in data center design and operations.
- Create refine and maintain a comprehensive turnover checklist for the operations team for data center suite handovers.
- Take part in data center strategy planning cost analysis and provider business reviews.
- Develop and lead liquid cooling deployments in the data center.
Qualifications :
Basic Qualifications:
- B.S./B.A. in Engineering Computer Science or a related technical field.
- 10 years of experience in data center design construction and operations.
- 2 years experience managing large-scale data center projects.
- 2 years of project management and leadership skills.
- Experience with data center infrastructure including power cooling and connectivity systems.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced dynamic environment.
- Risk Management: Ability to identify potential risks and develop effective mitigation strategies.
- Vendor Management: Experience in selecting negotiating and managing contracts with vendors and contractors.
- Regulatory Compliance: Knowledge of relevant regulations and industry standards.
- Communication: verbal and written communication skills for effective stakeholder engagement.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Masters Degree in Mechanical Engineering Materials Engineering Reliability Engineering Electrical Engineering or related field AND 2 years technical project management program management mission-critical electrical infrastructure.
- 12 years in direct data center construction experience at a data center provider or constructor.
- Experience in management engineering or operations of hyperscale datacenter critical environments.
- Experience in AutoCad and/or Revit as well as implementation or maintenance of DCIM applications.
- Ability to manage prioritize and successfully execute multiple concurrent mission-critical projects and communicate effectively to drive standards and consensus across multiple levels of the organization.
- Experience in Liquid cooling (DLC) design and deployment.
