ABOUT MAYORS OFFICE OF EMPLOYMENT OF DEVELOPMENT
The Mayors Office of Employment Development (MOED) coordinates and directs workforce development initiatives responsive to the needs of Baltimore City employees and job seekers in order to enhance and promote the local economy. Our vision is for every City resident to maximize his/her career potential and all employers have the human resources to grow and prosper a workforce system that works. MOED Hire Up Overview: Hire Up is a transitional jobs program for adult Baltimore City residents who are unemployed or underemployed. Program participants will receive a job at a MOED or with one of our partners for up to 6 months that pays $16 per hour for at least 35 hours per week. Participants will also receive free career navigation legal services financial empowerment counseling and job placement assistance.

Background Check
Eligible candidates under final consideration for appointment to positions identified as positions of trust will be required to complete authorization for a Criminal Background Check and/or Fingerprint screening and must be successfully completed.
Probation
All persons including current City employees selected for this position must complete a 6-MONTH mandatory probation.
