About the role
This is a key leadership role responsible for ensuring the efficient ongoing operation including cost oversight and management of your team consisting of drivers and despatchers.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Allocating resources to handle incoming waste volumes to our busy 7 day a week
- Working with the fleet coordinator in forecasting and scheduling truck maintenance
- Maintaining the compliance requirements for a small fleet of trucks
- Managing a small team of drivers
- Ensuring the drivers are fully trained and competent to company policies and NZTA requirements.
- Focus in providing a reliable timely and cost-effective service that benefits the customer which also involves route scheduling and optimising.
- Weekly reports and updates.
Qualifications :
About you
To be successful in this role you will have had a minimum of 2 years prior experience in overseeing teams ideally having worked in a medium-sized manufacturing or logistics environment.
Have excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to convey information clearly and effectively. Proven analytical and problem-solving skills as well as an excellent focus on healthy and safety are crucial for the role.
A drive to assume responsibility for a business unit and drive ongoing enhancements is vital. While previous experience as a truck driver is preferred it is not mandatory
