We are looking for a hands-on Software Engineering Manager to drive execution and innovation within our Online Price Intelligence product. If youre passionate about scaling systems solving complex technical challenges and enabling teams to do their best work this role is for you.
What Youll Do
As an Engineering Manager you will lead one or more delivery teams building pricing execution solutions for brand manufacturers. You will partner closely with the product leader to shape strategy guide execution and ensure alignment between business objectives and technical direction. Within your teams you will:
Drive clarity on business value to inform decisions and priorities.
Balance immediate roadmap needs with long-term technical vision.
Champion disciplined engineering practices and high-quality delivery.
Within the broader organization you will serve as a force multiplierraising the bar for engineering excellence developing people and processes and influencing other leaders to adopt best practices.

Qualifications :
Experience & Leadership
10 years of professional software engineering experience including at least 2 years leading/managing a software engineering team.
Proven track record of mentoring engineers and elevating team performance.
History of driving innovation delivering change and improving processes across enterprise programs.
Success managing distributed remote or global teams.
Technical Expertise
Strong background in distributed systems integrations automation and deployments.
Proficiency in architecting and delivering solutions within a distributed software platform.
Hands-on experience building applications with AI tools and frameworks (e.g. AI coding assistants LLM APIs AI-driven automation).
Solid understanding of AWS Linux Kubernetes and infrastructure concepts.
Deep experience with the software development lifecycle and agile methodologies.
Strong RDBMS and SQL programming experience.
Execution & Collaboration
Ability to translate complex problems into clear actionable goals aligned with business strategy.
Proven ability to work effectively across functions and build strong relationships.
Excellent analytical organizational and problem-solving skills with detail orientation.
Ownership mindset with accountability to drive execution from start to finish.
Experience defining and improving engineering processes and metrics.
Bonus Points
Experience with Domain-Driven Design (DDD) principles.
Strong interest or background in data and analytics.
Experience working within a retail or e-commerce environment.
Supervisory Responsibility
Directly manage a distributed team of 47 engineers providing clear direction and support.
Hire and onboard top-quality engineers as needed to meet team goals.
Mentor and develop team members helping them grow into more senior roles.
Set goals provide regular feedback and deliver performance reviews as part of Wisers career management process.
Lead sprint planning backlog refinement and ensure consistent timely delivery of engineering commitments.
Collaborate closely with product managers designers and other stakeholders to prioritize work and balance technical and business needs.
Guide technical decision-making promote engineering best practices and ensure high-quality scalable solutions.
Communicate progress risks and dependencies effectively to leadership and cross-functional partners.
Plan resources proactively to meet future business and technical needs.
Additional Information :
On-Call:
This role requires being part of a manager on-call rotation. Manager on-call duty corresponds to being available to respond to escalations from the front-line on-call engineer for additional support on resolving critical system issues.

Base pay is one part of our total compensation package. Pay is established on an individual basis after considering multiple factors such as relevant experience education and other addition we take into account geographical differentials and make sure pay is equitable with our current staff. For this position our hiring range for base annual pay is estimated to be CAD$160000 to $175000 at the time of this posting.
Performance-based discretionary bonuses and variable pay plans are available for some positions.
