Job Summary

POSITION: Literacy Tutor (Title I grant-funded tothe end of this school year)

REPORTS TO: Building Principal andTitle I Director

SALARY:$25.00 per hour

HOURS: 19.5hours per week until the end of this school year

QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Bachelors Degree preferably in education (minimum)
  2. Excellent interpersonal and collaborative problem solving skills.
  3. Successful prior experience working with general education students.
  4. Knowledge of best practices in teaching and learning and the ability to apply these practices.
  5. Ability to plan student lessons and work independently with individuals and groups.
  6. Commitment to the Districts goals & school improvement plan goals.
  7. Bilingualism is a highly desired skill for a position but not a requirement

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Using prepared lesson plans instruct at-risk individuals or small groups of students within the regular classroom and occasionally other settings.
  2. Facilitate the instructional programs of all assigned students under the supervision of the classroom teacher Title I Director and Building Principal.
  3. Document student performance and progress in collaboration with the classroom teachers and/or the students individual program requirements.
  4. Plan appropriate instructional activities and administer assessments in collaboration with classroom teachers.
  5. Meet regularly with other staff members and classroom teachers to coordinate interdisciplinary programs and activities.
  6. Perform other duties as assigned by the building principal or designee.
