Position Summary: Provides data collecting (paper scanners and electronic) / data entry support to the Program Director for high volume programs at Selfhelp Austin St. and Maspeth Older Adult Centers as well as occasional Sundays for Austin St. OAC to make up for Jewish Holiday closures. Uploading data from the DFTA Peer Place/VIVE Database and reporting from the database. The position requires attention to detail and accuracy in data collection/ entry.
Principal Responsibilities :
- Updating client data in web based program.
- Prepare and collect sign-in sheets for over 15 routine classes each day and any other programs required.
- Check and prepare scanners for each class/program;
- Identify appropriate volunteers from each class and train them how to scan the participant barcode/QR Code;
- Collect scanners after each class;
- Upload scanners to Peer Place/VIVE;
- Compare each class sign-sheet with the scan results in Peer Place/VIVE;
- Edit data to make sure that the sign-in sheets match the scanned numbers;
- Report problems discrepancies if any on a timely basis to management
- Print out data collecting results weekly;
- Help promote health life styles change among the center members;
- Adhere to organizations standards by completing annual mandatory trainings in a timely manner on topics including but not limited to Sexual Harassment Prevention Training IT Security Awareness Compliance OSHA HIPAA and any other training the organization may deem necessary in regards to regulatory compliance or good business practices.
- Assist with any other center related duties as required
- Supports organizations mission by striving for excellence in all aspects of their job with a focus on positive interpersonal relationship with co-workers.
- Adheres to the organizations policy in regards to absenteeism and appearance
Salary Ranges: $23 - $26 per hour commensurate with experience.
Job Competencies and Minimal Qualifications
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
- Must be proficient in Word XL and PowerPoint
- Problem solving abilities while multi-tasking; ability to exercise sound judgment
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent customer service and organizational skills
- Business Office Environment with phone and computer use
- Must be able to work occasionally in our Maspeth Senior Center (Sundays)
