Job Summary
The House of Commons Digital Services and Real Property is currently looking to staff the Audio-Visual Production Technician position with the Video Production Center.
This recruitment and selection process is restricted to Digital Media and Connected Systems employees.
Digital Media and Connected Systems manages the House of Commons information services including parliamentary websites and the Parliamentary Television and Radio Network. The team broadcasts Chamber and committee proceedings supports the technical setup for meetings and events and produces internal videos for the House Administration.
The Video Production Centre (VPC) is looking for a creative detail-oriented person with skills in video production (camera lighting sound) and post-production (editing and 2D animation). As an Audio-Visual Production Technician youll be involved in every stage of video creationfrom planning to final editingfor projects such as promotional awareness and training videos.
Occasional overtime may be required.
Qualifications :
Education :
- Post-secondary diploma in a broadcasting or video production related field multimedia or audio-visual (A/V) technologies and/or five (5) years of equivalent training and experience in the professional A/V or video production field.
Experiences :
- Experience installing and operating audio-visual equipment during video shoots such as DSLR cameras audio recording equipment and video lighting;
- Experience in video editing with knowledge of Adobe Premiere and Adobe After Effect;
- Experience in motion graphics (2d) with knowledge of Adobe After Effect and Adobe Illustrator;
- Professional experience working with high level clients;
- Professional experience working in collaboration with a team of skilled individuals and independently.
Assets :
- Strong ability to balance multiple projects at once and prioritize them appropriately;
- General computer skills with Mac OS and Microsoft OS (Teams Word Excel Etc);
- Interest in graphic design and script writing is an asset.
