As a Manager Financial Modeling in our business consulting practice you will lead and advise consulting engagements that enable and drive data-driven decision-making through advanced financial analysis and modeling. This is a client-facing full-time role that requires the ability to lead and deliver complex consulting engagements in a variety of business consulting engagements - not limited to any one industry vertical.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in leading consulting engagements managing stakeholders with a proven ability to lead project teams to deliver actionable insights and strategic recommendations based on financial data. This role requires proficiency in leveraging multiple data sources to develop functional models and reports as well as advanced skills in Excel (or similar spreadsheet tools) and Power BI to perform moderate to complex analyses of capital projects. The successful candidate will have strong stakeholder management experience as well as leadership experience leading project teams.
Responsibilities
- Lead and deliver consulting engagements focused on solving complex financial and strategic challenges including financial modeling M&A transactions business valuations forecasting and performance improvement.
- Apply deep expertise in financial consulting and advanced financial modeling to analyze client data develop dynamic models and present actionable insights that influence executive decision-making and drive measurable business results.
- Lead and own large-scale client initiatives and programs in support of Wavestones overall P&L and growth potential ensuring quality work on time and within budget.
- Serve as a key point of contact for clients managing relationships and ensuring high levels of client satisfaction and engagement throughout the project lifecycle.
- Actively guide and participate in client engagement(s) to direct solution development and implementation.
- Create and develop business relationships and serve as a trusted advisor to clients.
- Execute business development plans including lead qualification problem/solution exploration proposal generation and related client meetings.
- Contribute to business development goals established by leadership.
- Lead and motivate direct reports as well as client project team members. Provide regular feedback and development-focused coaching and mentoring.
- Support talent recruitment by acquiring and developing high potential talent.
- Facilitate client meetings and conversations that result in clear outcomes and mutual understanding.
- Develop clear and compelling business presentations/reviews for internal and external audiences.
- Develop overall governance programs to effectively define monitor and support programs and strategies.
- Continually evaluate and learn new tools processes or approaches to further improve existing methodologies. Create new methodologies and other intellectual capital for the practice area.
- Actively participate in and represent the company at business marketing events such as speaking engagements networking events executive events and seminars.
Qualifications :
Education
- Bachelors degree in a variety of disciplines to include Business Finance Engineering Operations or other relevant disciplines.
- Masters/MBA preferred.
Required Experience
- 5 or more years consulting experience with a strong emphasis on financial consulting including financial modeling M&A valuation analysis and strategic financial planning.
- Demonstrated track record of leading high-impact client engagements and cross-functional teams overseeing complex financial modeling and consulting projects while fostering trusted relationships with senior executives and decision-makers.
- Well-developed business acumen including policy alignment concise communication and financial consulting solutions in support of a clients strategic goals.
- Demonstrated success executing business development plans and goals.
- A focus on strategic planning including critical thinking bringing structure to ambiguous situations and leading toward a future vision.
- Well-developed communications skills including expertise in delivering compelling presentations to stakeholders.
- Effective problem resolution skills including the ability to break a problem down into solvable components.
- Demonstrated customer focus that conveys a genuine concern for customer needs and generates customer satisfaction.
- People leadership including experience serving as a coach and mentor in support of individual and team development.
- Proven ability to build trusting interpersonal relationships and model professional demeanor when faced with opposition pressure or stressful conditions.
- Ability to travel based on client requirements.
Preferred Experience
- 8 or more years experienceinconsulting including team leadership with deep experience in financial modeling M&A valuation analysis and strategic financial planning.
- Experience developing a practice or set of service offerings to clients.
- Process improvement/Six Sigma/Lean Sigma experience.
