Position Overview
An industry-leading food manufacturing company is seeking an accomplished Plant Manager to lead operations at its high-volume production and packaging facility in Wausau Wisconsin. With over 500 employees this location plays a critical role in the companys nationwide operations and is recognized for its world-class quality standards and innovative processing systems.
The Plant Manager will oversee all plant functions driving continuous improvement operational excellence and employee engagement. This individual will serve as a key member of the companys leadership team influencing long-term strategic planning and ensuring the plant remains a benchmark for safety quality and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
Provide overall leadership for a large-scale food manufacturing and packaging facility.
Oversee daily plant operations including production maintenance quality assurance and safety.
Champion continuous improvement initiatives to optimize throughput and reduce waste.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to achieve cost quality and delivery objectives.
Lead mentor and develop management and hourly teams to strengthen performance and retention.
Ensure compliance with all company policies regulatory standards and food safety requirements.
Manage budgets capital projects and resource allocation to achieve operational goals.
Foster a positive high-performance work culture focused on teamwork and accountability.
Participate in strategic planning and long-term plant development initiatives.
Qualifications
Bachelors degree preferred; equivalent industry experience will be considered.
10 years of progressive leadership experience in a high-speed food manufacturing environment.
Proven success implementing continuous improvement and lean manufacturing practices.
Strong understanding of production metrics process optimization and workforce management.
Excellent communication leadership and problem-solving skills.
Demonstrated ability to manage large teams and complex operations effectively.
