Micron Technology is seeking a highly experienced Senior Safety Engineer to lead the development implementation and oversight of safety programs and policies across the site. This role ensures compliance with federal state and local health and safety regulations while promoting a culture of safety and accountability. A key focus of this position is leading the extended workforce/contractor safety program which includes leading weekly safety meetings and engaging directly with key vendors on-site. You will also conduct training perform safety audits investigate incidents and recommend corrective actions to mitigate occupational hazards.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop implement and monitor site-wide safety programs with a primary focus on contractor and extended workforce safety.

  • Lead weekly safety meetings and maintain active engagement with key vendors and contractors on-site.

  • Conduct employee training in emergency response life safety chemical and fire hazards and industrial hygiene.

  • Perform safety audits and surveys identify occupational hazards and recommend corrective actions.

  • Investigate accidents and incidents determine root causes and implement corrective measures.

  • Complete and submit required safety reports to federal state and local agencies.

  • Serve as an expert and resource for internal teams on safety-related matters.

  • Support continuous improvement initiatives related to safety performance and risk mitigation.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in Occupational Safety Environmental Science Engineering or a related field.

  • 5 years of experience in industrial or manufacturing safety roles.

  • Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations safety codes and emergency response protocols.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Professional safety certification (e.g. OSHA CSP CIH CHMM).

  • Experience in semiconductor or high-tech manufacturing environments.

  • Proven experience leading contractor safety programs and vendor engagement.
