This position will be responsible for keeping production machinery running through troubleshooting rebuilding installing & conducting preventative maintenance (PM) on equipment for both mechanical and electrical issues. This position is also responsible for monitoring the PMs effectiveness and making changes as needed to ensure PMs are productive. Ability to work from manuals blueprints and schematics. Ability to perform electrical repair as related to a manufacturing environment. NFPA (National Fire Protection Association) CEST 70 (Certified Electrical Safety Technician) must be obtained and continually renewed while holding this position.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

Create evaluate & adjust PM schedules. Keep production machines running with minimal downtown. Rebuild production machinery. Prioritize machine repairs and respond at a minutes notice. Troubleshooting mechanical & electrical breakdowns. Electrical repair. Receive work assignments either verbal written or computer generated as directed by supervisor together with drawings schematics sketches or other data and information.

Knowledge Skills and Ability:

Required:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent work experience
  • Minimum of 4 years machine repair experience or successful completion of Maintenance Apprenticeship Program
  • Electrical apprenticeship or some type of formal electrical training
  • NFPA (National Fire Protection Association) CEST 70 (Certified Electrical Safety Technician) must be obtained and continually renewed while holding this position.
  • Welding Fabricating experience
  • Strong mechanical troubleshooting skills
  • Strong electrical troubleshooting skills
  • Ability to perform machine maintenance independently on all equipment within the plant.
  • Must be able to read interpret & analyze electrical schematics blueprints & service manuals.
  • Understanding of electricity in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Flexibility and ability to adapt to change
  • Ability to assess and react in a timely manner
  • Must be able to use a wide range of job specific tools
  • Must have good communication skills.
  • Work well as part of a team.

Preferred:

  • Experience in Lean Manufacturing
  • Proficient computer skills (MS Word Excel Teams Outlook)
  • 4-years of CNC machine shop repair/maintenance experience
  • Experience in a union environment
