Developing enzymes for Roche internally as well as externally means for us the development of tailor-made biocatalysts and biological targets for creating the best-in-class molecules for Roche and our clients. Combining several biotechnological methods such as expression profiling cell cultivation enzyme purification portfolio enzyme engineering and biochemical investigations we always try to improve to maintain or to design new enzymes. As a Post-Doc Position in Novel Enzymes (m/f/d) you actively shape the development of new enzymes using biotechnological and bioinformatic methods. Become part of an innovative research team that consolidates a platform from dry-lab to wet-lab to develop customized enzymes for our diagnostics. The opportunity
You ensure the development of new enzymes using a combination of biotechnological and bioinformatic methods
You are responsible for the independent production of tailored proteins/enzymes using molecular biological methods or the establishment of new production and screening methods for protein variants
You support the consolidation of a platform from dry-lab to wet-lab suitable for the protein engineering of novel enzymes
You implement new biochemical and biophysical readouts suitable for the screening and development of tailored enzymes
You pursue scientific and technical education by continuously following and reading the relevant scientific literature
Who you are
You possess a university degree (Dr. / Ph.D.) in a relevant field
You have specialized knowledge in the areas of protein engineering bioinformatics and molecular biology
Experience in microbiology downstream and upstream processing as well as chemistry is an advantage
You demonstrate knowledge and expertise in recombinant protein expression protein purification and the development of protein analytical methods for protein characterization
You are willing to provide consultation and troubleshooting regarding enzyme challenges in Research & Development and Production
This position is limited to 2 years.
