Line Lead

Essential Functions of the Job: Other duties may be assigned as necessary.

• Under limited supervision performs all work necessary to setup and operate onion ring fryers mixers and various raw breaded onion lines following established standards and procedures.
• Starts fryer and sets temperature control.
• Makes batches of batter necessary to maintain production. Fill feeds hoppers for breaders and insures that machines are operating efficiently.
• Maintains all raw material supplies necessary to meet production requirements including batter breading and oil.
• Tests / adjusts batter viscosity and maintains records on raw material usage.
• Adjusts and performs minor maintenance work on all batter and breading equipment.
• Maintains oil fill level in fryer holding tank by transferring oil from main storage tanks.
• Drains sanitizes and refills batter and breading equipment as required.
• Performs line cleaning and sanitation work during breaks as required.
• Monitors and adjusts the flow of onions to the lines and reassigns crew to preparation separation or packing areas to ensure optimum production rate.
• Keeps records on raw material usage and completes batter charts as required
• Starts and stops all production lines as necessary.
• Reports unusual conditions or problems to supervision.
• May perform work as a fill form and seal machine operator on a fill in basis.
• Understands and follows established sanitation and safety rules and procedures.
• Keeps work area in a clean and orderly condition.

Pack Tech

Essential Functions of the Job:

• Under limited supervision performs work necessary to operate all the automatic packaging machines following established standards and procedures.
• Responsible for machine setup and adjustments to control machine speed in conformance with various product specifications; and trouble shoots minor problems to repair equipment or report repair requirements to maintenance.
• Insures product and packaging requirements.
• Must be able to lift and carry 30 lb spools of film.
• Must communicate well with production team to ensure product quality and smooth operation of plant.
• Reports unusual problems or conditions to management.
• Undertakes additional training as required to gain the necessary skills to operate new packaging equipment.
• Keeps work area in a clean and orderly condition

Material Handler

Essential Functions of the Job:

• Under limited supervision the Utility Worker performs a variety of routine manual work requiring physical strength and endurance including operating forklift to transport raw materials and finished product.
• This position rotates between the following four areas; receiving onion hoppers breading hopper room and the freezer.
• Unload semi-trucks of raw and packaging materials by using a forklift and transport to the warehouse ensuring that the area is kept clean and organized.
• Unloads and stacks onions (up to 50 bags at 50 pounds per unit stacks to a height of 6 feet up to 3 loads per 8 hour shift of up to 1000 bags per load) onto pallets and transports to storage area or cutting area as required.
• Counts and dumps sacks of onions into cutting hoppers as required.
• Places carts under end cutters and empties scrap onion into trash compactors.
• Stacks bales and stores burlap sacks as required.
• Load bags of batter and breading onto the elevator and operate to bring up to the breading hopper room. Manually dump 50 lb bags into the hoppers.
• Performs general housekeeping work including removal of excess scrap from end cutters shovels or sweeps scrap from floors flushes floors with water may assist with machinery cleaning and performs other housekeeping work in other plant areas as required.
• Completes product recall tags and places on all palletized product and checks to insure that product cases packed match recall tag counts.
• Complete and enter into the AS400 system all appropriate production paperwork in an accurate and timely fashion.
• Keeps packaging areas supplied with raw materials and supplies.
• May stack cases onto slip sheets or pallets stretch wraps and transports product to cold storage area.
• Transports extruded onion ring stacks into cold storage area as required.
• Other duties as assigned.
• Understands and follows established sanitation and safety rules and procedures.

Onion Separator

Position Summary:

The Onion Separator position is primarily responsible for sorting and separating the onion rings as they come out of the auger following the standard operating procedures.

Key Responsibilities:

• Separate and sort raw onion rings to specification
• Follow the separator Job Safety Analysis and all other safety policies and procedures
• Follow the Good Manufacturing Practices and all quality policies and procedures
• Pick carbon from finished product

Onion Prep

Essential Functions of the Job: Other duties may be assigned as necessary.

• End-cut peel inspect sort and slice raw onions while keeping pace with production requirements.
• Place onions on flight chain pockets ensuring that onions are straight with the root end facing the prep worker. Normal operating range is 50-65 onions per minute.
• Control raw onion flow turning conveyors on and off as production needs dictate.
• Adjust the speed of the feed conveyer and slicer in-feed belt as needed.
• Remove loose debris (skins peels etc.) from the slicer in-feed belt.
• Use air nozzle to blow off all brown skin.
• Lay onions on flat end before they go into slicer.
• Monitor slicer in-feed conveyors to ensure consistent onion flow.
• Follow the prep Job Safety Analyses and all other safety policies and procedures.
• Communicates with co-workers line leads SRC technicians and management regarding the days production.

Criteria: Employees with a final written warning on file for a work-rule violation in the rolling calendar year (1 year back from this posting date) will not be eligible to bid for these openings.

Selection Process: The selection process will be based on seniority as well job knowledge and skills candidates will be interviewed.

Compensation Package:$ - $ Starting at 24.80 USD hourly Bonus eligibility Hourly Pay Differential for applicable shifts

The above reflects the target compensation range for the position at the time of posting. Hiring compensation will be determined based on experience skill set education and training and other organizational needs.
