| Salary Range:$20.82/Hr | Hours per week:Part Time |
General Statement:The Parent Liaison will support school administration staff parents and the community working together to meet the goals of the District.
Responsibilities:
- Design implement and monitor family engagement activities that promote home-school-community partnerships.
- Work in cooperation with the school principal faculty and staff including school social worker and psychologist.
- Participate on the Family Engagement Committee PBIS Team School Improvement Team Parent Teacher Organization under direction of the building principal.
- Coordinate programming with Family Education Coordinator parent educators and district parent liaisons.
- Assists principal in the weekly newsletter to families.
- Become a member of the Parent Advisory Council and Westerly Parent Academy workgroups.
- Maintain records of all activities related to family programming including evaluation feedback and attendance records.
- Attend home visits in support of education.
- Organize after school enrichment programming under direction of the building principal..
- Coordinate Big Buddy and advocate programs under direction of the building principal
- Use of a variety of communication methods to outreach families including websites phone newsletters flyers email personal contact and social media to foster school success for students.
- Link families with resources to meet their identified needs.
- Perform related duties as assigned by the building principal.
Qualifications:
- Strong communication organizational and office skills.
- Must understand and maintain confidentiality.
- Must be available for all hours required by the job.
- Work Year and Hours:
- Part time grant funded calendar year .
- Flexible schedule including afternoons nights and weekends.
- Experience:
- Experience in education and family/community involvement.
- Experience developing coordinating and directing activities.
- Experience collaborating with parents school staff and the community.
- Knowledge of curriculum grades Prek-grade 5.
- Creativity and flexibility are a must!
- Education:
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Certification & Licensing:
- Associates Degree or higher preferred.
