Job Description:
The successful candidate will be experienced in performing major and minor scheduled and unscheduled maintenance IAW military commercial maintenance manuals and service bulletins of aircraft powerplant systems and components. They will also provide technical assistance and guidance during aircrew de-briefs and perform towing marshalling and positioning of aircraft on flight line. Perform other related tasks as required in support of engineering testing and production for the program.
Essential Functions:
- Performs maintenance disassembly rework repair replacement re-assembly or adjustment of various aircraft components in accordance with technical specifications engineering instructions.
- Conduct thorough inspections to identify any wear tear or damage and carry out necessary repairs.
- Use diagnostic tools and equipment to troubleshoot and resolve aircraft system issues.
- Adhere to maintenance manuals technical specifications and regulatory requirements during all maintenance activities.
- Document all maintenance activities accurately in maintenance logs and records.
- Collaborate with customer and provide feedback on aircraft performance and any issues encountered.
- Ensure that all tools materials and equipment are calibrated correctly and maintained in good working condition.
- Participate in continuous improvement activities to enhance maintenance processes and practices.
- Performs flightline operations aircraft inspections or repairs sometimes in confined spaces and inclement weather.
- Strong understanding of safety protocols and regulatory compliance requirements.
- Ability to interpret technical manuals schematics and engineering documentation.
- Ability to obtain certification to operate self-propelled vehicles such as forklifts scissor lifts boom lifts; aircraft support equipment and towing vehicles.
- Ability to climb including ladders stairs and portable stands and navigate these with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Ability to lift or move objects up to 30 pounds with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Proficiency with aircraft maintenance software and diagnostic tools.
- Willingness and ability to work flexible hours including nights.
Qualifications:
- Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 8 years of prior relevant experience or 2 years post-Secondary/Associates Degree with a minimum of 4 years of prior related experience.
- Active Top Secret security clearance is required.
- Minimum of 6 months experience in aircraft maintenance on P-8 or P-8A preferably with a focus on complex mechanical and powerplant systems.
- Ability to pass a flightline physical.
- Must have required tools prior to starting work. Tools must be shadowed and engraved. L3Harris will provide the material to complete this task upon hire.
Preferred Additional Skills:
- FAA Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) certification preferred.
- Advanced troubleshooting skills with a focus on powerplant systems.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently.
- Excellent communication skills to liaise with engineers customers and other maintenance staff.
- Experience with the Navys NALCOMIS/OOMA/ASM.
