Gear Project Quotations Specialist

Location: Austin or San Antonio TX

Job type: Full time

What Youll Do

• Create the Crawford Gear brand along with Sales Strategy.
• Responds to requests from customers and salespersons often in a consultative capacity on matters pertaining to the application and operation of gear project quotations.
• Point of contact for gear manufacturers on key projects.
• Provide alternative options on switchgear projects.
• Ability to meet and exceed customer needs and project deadlines.
• Excellent organizational and communications skills.
• Develops and maintains strong vendor/manufacturer relationships. (Gear Manf TVSS UPS Med voltage Transformers Generators etc.)
• Foster and maintain working relationships with specifying engineers. Provide technical assistance and other product and system support to the engineering community by working independently or in conjunction with manufacturers representatives.
• Services external consulting engineers to enhance and uphold Crawfords image and products.
• Applies knowledge of Crawfords offerings to customers needs.
• Provide alternative options (value savings) on switchgear projects prior to bid and/or award date.
• Improve margin with effective negotiations of job pricing and special levels with partner manufactures.
• Build a sustainable and profitable gear department that focuses on GMR improvement.
• Demand Creation for Engineered Distribution Equipment
• Collaborate with Regional Leadership to determine the best options to differentiate Crawford from other distribution and manufacturing.
• Training withkey manufacturer partners on Features and Benefits of products with the intent to jointly develop market opportunities and get manufactures products specified and/or preferred.
• Independent Sales Calls and/or Joint Sales Calls with key manufacturer partners at Installers End Users and/or Specifiers with the intent to develop market opportunities and get manufactures products specified and/or preferred.
• Host internal training for Sales team with an emphasis on reading plans specs and one-line diagrams in addition to product training.
• Knowledge and Application of Electrical Code
• Recognition and Development of opportunities for Prefabricated Gear related products as available from Crawford and/or key manufacturer partners.

What You Bring

• Electrical Engineering Degree or equivalent Switch Gear manufacturer experience.
• Expert ability to read and comprehend electrical plans.
• Working knowledge of Electrical Contractor business and product supply chain.
• PC literate with knowledge of MS Office (Word Excel & Power Point)
• Excellent written verbal presentation and negotiation skills.
• Ecommerce/Digital experience
