Job Summary

Summary & Objective

The EVS Supervisor assists the Director in maintaining a high-quality standard by keeping him/her informed on the condition of all assigned areas and by training supervising and motivating the environmental services personnel to be sure all schedules are completed.

Essential Functions

  • Performs the duties of the environmental services aide as outlined in the job description
  • Accepts responsibility for the limited areas shift or task as assigned
  • Continuously checks assigned areas to be sure work is being done properly and that personnel are following schedules (duty lists)
  • Reports any pertinent information to the supervisor as it occurs
  • Instills a service-minded approach to all tasks performed by environmental services staff by demonstrating a personal enthusiasm and team spirit
  • Motivates staff by communicating areas done well and areas needing improvement
  • Help train new EVS Technicians on cleaning procedures safety protocols and the proper use of cleaning equipment and chemicals.
  • Provide ongoing support coaching and development opportunities to team members to enhance their skills and performance.
  • Ensure that all cleaning operations comply with regulatory requirements including OSHA standards and infection control protocols.
  • Monitor the use of cleaning supplies and equipment ensuring proper storage handling and usage to prevent accidents and injuries.
  • Report and address any safety hazards maintenance issues or incidents promptly.
  • Respond to and address any special cleaning requests complaints or concerns from patients staff or visitors in a timely and professional manner.
  • Execute specialized cleaning projects including but not limited to deep cleaning floor care (e.g. stripping waxing buffing) carpet cleaning and window washing.
  • Coordinate with the EVS Lead or Manager to plan and prioritize projects based on facility needs and schedules.
  • Ensure that all project work is completed efficiently and meets the required standards of cleanliness and safety.
  • Participate in all morning and any other mandatory meetings during the absence of supervisor/manager.
  • Some projects may require evening hours.

Other Duties

  • Maintain your required licenses certifications and mandatory skill updates as needed
  • Comply with all policies local state and federal laws and regulations.
  • Provide other duties of other team members.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Supervisory Responsibility

  • May serve as an interim department leader depending on need

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to stand walk bend and reach for extended periods.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.

Requirements

Knowledge & Experience Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in environmental services or a related field with at least 1 year in a supervisory or lead role preferred.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills with the ability to motivate and manage a team effectively.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage time efficiently.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team with a commitment to maintaining a clean and safe environment.
