The Maryland Department of Juvenile Services (DJS) is dedicated to transforming young lives creating safer communities and fostering equitable systems. We are seeking passionate individuals for the role of the Food Administrator IV so come join our team and make a meaningful impact on youth and the community at DJS!
The main purpose of this position is to work as the Program Director and Administrator for all activities of the food service operation at Baltimore Juvenile Justice Center. This position supports the mission of the agency by providing safe nutritious and appetizing meals and snacks for youth housed at the Baltimore Juvenile Justice Center.
Some key responsibilities of this position may include but not be limited to the following:
Manages food service cost control measures in food procurement food production and food distribution.
Performs employee counseling in accordance with current MOU and DJS Standards of Conduct. Ensures PEPs are completed as required for food service employees.
Ensures effective food service operations at the Baltimore City Juvenile Justice Center and satellites are in compliance with all DJS policies county state and federal regulations.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Experience:Nine years of experience five years of experiencemanaging large-scale food service operations in an institutional commercial industrial or similar organization and an additional four years of experience supervising in alarge-scale food service operation.

1. Candidates may substitute the possession of a Bachelors degree from an accredited college or university and five years of experience managing large-scale food service operations in an institutional commercial industrial or similar organization for the required experience.
may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience as a commissioned officer in Food Services Officers classifications or Food Services Manager and Services Officer specialty codes in the food servicemanagement field of work on a year-for-year basis for the required experience.
DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Thepreferred candidate for this position may possess any of the followingqualifications:
Experience working with procurement using FMIS
Experience working with the State Procurement Regulation
Experience implementing the national school lunch andschool breakfast program meeting Federal Child Nutrition standards
