This position will lead and coordinate the implementation and standardization of Automated Dispensing Units (ADU) and other applications within the Medication Management and Use systems throughout the province.

Shared Health leads the planning and coordinates the integration of patient- centered clinical and preventive health services across Manitoba. The organization also delivers some province-wide health services and supports centralized administrative and business functions for Manitoba health organizations.

Position Overview

Reporting to the Pharmacy Shared Service Director the Pharmacy Lead Drug Distribution Operations is responsible and accountable for integrating drug distribution initiatives within the medication use system as outlined in Program strategic and operational plans. As a lead within the Pharmacy Shared Service Management Team the incumbent assumes managerial oversight over staff and other Drug Distribution Managers within their portfolio as well as other administrative responsibilities as assigned.

The Pharmacy Lead Drug Distribution Operations is accountable for overall drug distribution operations with a focus on continuous quality improvement and patient safety. The incumbent develops relationships within and beyond the Program to support the delivery of safe effective and efficient drug distribution services.

Experience

  • Three (3) years of experience in a management/leadership role is required.
  • Experience in a hospital pharmacy is preferred.

Education (Degree/Diploma/Certificate)

  • Recognized as a Pharmacy Technician by the College of Pharmacists of Manitoba (CPhM) is required.
  • Successful completion of a CCAPP Accredited Pharmacy Technician Certificate OR completion of the program prescribed by the College of Pharmacists of Manitoba for candidates who successfully complete a non-CCAPP Accredited Pharmacy Technician Certificate.
  • Completion of a management training program preferred.

Certification/Licensure/Registration

  • Listed as a Pharmacy Technician with the College of Pharmacists of Manitoba.
  • Membership in the Canadian Association of Pharmacy Technicians preferred.
  • Membership in the Canadian Society of Hospital Pharmacists preferred.

Physical Requirements

  • Must be able to travel to multiple sites within the Province of Manitoba have a valid drivers license and use of a personal vehicle.
