Network Security Tower Leader

About the role:
We are seeking a Network Security Tower Leader to drive the design implementation and optimisation of secure network infrastructures. Youll lead a team of engineers act as the bridge between project and BAU support and ensure the highest standards of security and compliance across hybrid and multi-cloud environments.
Key Responsibilities:
Act as the single point of contact (SPOC) for BAU operations SOC/Network Security and Cyber teams.
Lead mentor and develop a team of network security engineers and analysts.
Develop and execute comprehensive network security strategies aligned with business objectives and compliance requirements.
Oversee the design implementation and maintenance of secure network infrastructures (firewalls VPNs IDS/IPS proxies load balancers).
Lead incident response investigation and remediation including post-incident reporting and process improvement.
Coordinate vulnerability assessments penetration tests and security audits.
Develop and enforce network security policies and procedures ensuring compliance with regulatory standards (e.g. ACSC SOCI).
Oversee continuous monitoring and reporting of network security posture.
Support firewall policy optimisation threat profile implementation and VPN migration.
Participate in planning cutover and implementation meetings including physical data centre visits during cutover activities.
Required Experience:
15 years in network security roles with at least 2 years in a leadership capacity.
Extensive experience with firewalls intrusion prevention systems VPNs web proxies load balancers and network design.
Strong understanding of networking protocols (TCP/IP DNS HTTP/S) and cloud security principles.
Hands-on experience with incident response security forensics and automation tools (Ansible Power Automate Tufin).
Familiarity with regulatory and compliance frameworks (SOCI ACSC) and utilities sector experience.
Must hold a network certification and be hands-on with automation technologies.
Mandatory on-site presence in Melbourne at least 3 days per week.
Desirable Skills:
Experience with security automation and orchestration tools.
Cloud platform security expertise (Azure).
Advanced degree in Cybersecurity or related field.
Industry certifications (CISSP CISM CISA CCNP Security Palo Alto F5 Prisma Illumio etc.).
