Skills and Competencies

  • Accounting knowledge with a strong focus on financial analysis or relevant work or project experience in finance accounting economics or related fields
  • Strong analytical and modelling skills
  • Proficient in MS Excel Word and PowerPoint; experience with data analysis and visualization tools (e.g. PowerBI Tableau KNIME) is beneficial
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and handle workflow to adapt to a changing environment and prioritize tasks accordingly
  • Strong organizational skills analytical thinking and attention to detail

Education

  • Students matriculating through college studying towards a Bachelors Degree or equivalent qualification or a Masters Degree in Finance Accounting Economics or related field
  • Graduation date of December 2026 June 2027
  • Ability to work during program dates: June 15th - August 21st 2026

Responsibilities

Supporting Analytical teams as of analytical work may include:

  • Participate in case studies designed to further analytical understanding
  • Work on various analytical research data process related projects
  • Collect data and identify trends to support well-thought-out credit conclusions
  • Prepare financial documents charts and presentations
  • Responsible for monitoring media outlets for news regarding special projects or portfolios
  • Provide analytical and research support to the rating teams
  • Contribute to the creation of high-quality research publications

About the Program

The Moodys Ratings and Research Support (RRS) internship program is a 10-week program that provides an outstanding opportunity to develop skills that are valuable to any future career in the financial services industry. This will be an internally facing role reporting to a Team Manager. The Summer Associate will be assigned to one of the following rating groups:

  • Project and Infrastructure

Internships are full-time offering a comprehensive view of Moodys business and culture and a chance to build professional and technical skills. Programmatic elements include networking mentorship leadership speaker series and volunteering events. Interns complete project work determined by their team that have real impact fostering a sense of accomplishment and professional growth. Throughout the internship participants receive mentorship from Moodys professionals gaining insights into diverse career paths and cultivate a comprehensive understanding of the company. Networking events and workshops further enrich the experience providing a platform for professional development and collaboration. As a Moodys intern you will gain real-world experience turn inputs into actions and be integral part of the team.

The successful Summer Intern can aspire to receive an offer to join Moodys as an Ratings Associate after they graduate.

About the team

The Summer Associate will be assigned to the Project and Infrastructure Finance (PIF) team. PIF is responsible for rating debt issued by public and private infrastructure issuers and electric gas and water utilities. Such issuers include project finance entities that are limited to a special purpose by law regulation or contracts as well as infrastructure and utility companies not contractually limited to a specific activity.

Sectors covered by the PIF include:

  • Electric gas and water utilities
  • Project/concession financings in the infrastructure sectors (toll roads railroads airports seaports hospitals etc.)
  • Financings of natural resource and energy projects including power projects and renewable energy projects
  • Stadiums lotteries and other limited recourse concession-type financings
