Description

We are currently seeking a dedicated Locum Nurse Practitioner (NP) specializing in this role you will play a crucial part in providing high-quality care to newborns in need of specialized medical attention. Your expertise will be instrumental in supporting the neonatal team and ensuring the well-being of our tiniest patients. This position offers a unique opportunity to work on challenging cases collaborate with a multidisciplinary team and make a significant impact in the field of neonatal care.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive assessments of newborns in the neonatal unit.
  • Develop and implement care plans in collaboration with the healthcare team.
  • Perform procedures such as intubations lumbar punctures and umbilical line placements.
  • Monitor and manage ventilator support for premature infants.
  • Educate parents on neonatal care techniques and post-discharge instructions.
  • Participate in daily rounds and communicate patient updates to the medical team.
  • Assist in emergency situations requiring immediate intervention.
  • Document patient information accurately and maintain medical records.

Requirements:

  • Valid Nurse Practitioner (NP) license in the state of practice.
  • Certification in Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP).
  • Previous experience working in a neonatal intensive care unit (NICU).
  • Strong knowledge of neonatal assessment diagnosis and treatment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and high-pressure environment.
  • Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
  • Flexibility to work varying shifts as needed.

Schedule: 12 or 24-hour shifts specific dates

No call shifts

Level III NICU

Patient Volume: 6 per shift

Must be board-certified
