We are hiring a Senior Cardiac Physiologist to a Hospital in Ireland.
Responsibilities
Conducts and supervises a full range of invasive and non-invasive cardiac diagnostic tests including ECG Holter/BP monitoring Stress ECG tilt table testing pacemaker/ICD implants and follow-ups electrophysiology studies angiography and angioplasty.
Possesses thorough understanding of all cardiac procedures ensuring accurate measurements and interpretation of diagnostic results.
Communicates effectively with consultants GPs and hospital staff regarding patient care and procedural needs.
Maintains departmental records corrects delinquent medical records reports equipment malfunctions and ensures timely delivery of patient procedures.
Ensures all equipment is maintained per manufacturer specifications evaluates new equipment and maintains awareness of electrical safety requirements.
Maintains and develops cardiology policies and procedures participates in departmental process improvement projects and supports safe and infection-controlled working environments.
Controls and supervises the administration of medication according to hospital and departmental guidelines.
Trains new employees assists in evaluating cardiac physiologists and ensures staff stay updated with developments in cardiology procedures.
Maintains professional and courteous relationships across departments attends meetings as required and ensures patient privacy is respected throughout the hospital.
Deputises for the Chief Physiologist as needed and performs other relevant duties as assigned including reporting accidents/incidents and supporting remedial actions.
Requirements
Possess a BSc in Clinical Measurement from Technological University Dublin or Dublin Institute of Technology
Possess the Certificate in Medical Physics and Physiological Measurement (MPPM) from Dublin Institute of Technology
Possess an equivalent relevant scientific qualification as confirmed by the IICMP.
Minimum of three years post-qualification experience in a Cardiac Department including experience in a Cardiac Catheterisation Laboratory and Cardiac Pacing.
Experience in Electrophysiology is desirable.
Possess Advanced Life Support certification.
Demonstrate good general knowledge of cardiology.
Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
Demonstrate motivation initiative and an innovative approach to the role.
