Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) Project Engineer

We are working with a Global EPC for large scale BESS projects occurring at the start of the 2026 year around the Manchester Area. We have a requirement for full project site teams ranging from Project Managers Site Managers Civil Mechanical and Electrical supervisors and Project Engineers.

The Project Engineer will play a central role in supporting the successful execution of BESS projects from early construction through commissioning. This position bridges the gap between site operations engineering design and project management - ensuring that all technical quality and documentation requirements are met throughout the delivery process.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide technical coordination between design procurement and site delivery teams.

• Review engineering drawings specifications and supplier documentation to ensure constructability and compliance.

• Support planning and scheduling activities tracking progress against key project milestones.

• Manage technical documentation RFIs and change control processes.

• Assist with QA/QC inspections and commissioning preparation.

• Ensure HSE and quality requirements are embedded across all project phases.

• Contribute to project reporting lessons learned and continuous improvement initiatives.

Ideal Background:

• Degree-qualified in Electrical Mechanical Civil or Energy Engineering (or equivalent experience).

• 2-5 years experience working on renewable energy BESS or power infrastructure projects.

• Strong understanding of project delivery processes and construction interfaces.

• Excellent coordination communication and problem-solving skills.

• Willingness to work site-based in the UK
