Position Summary
We are seeking a strategic and compliance-driven Chief Financial Officer (CFO) with deep experience in managing public sector grants particularly in the Early Childhood Education space. The CFO will lead the financial strategy ensure fiscal integrity and oversee all financial operations including budgeting reporting and compliance with grant requirements. This position is responsible for facilities management and procurement.

Key Responsibilities
Lead financial planning forecasting and budgeting processes across the organization.
Oversee fiscal management of federal state and city grants ensuring full compliance with all regulations and reporting requirements.
Develop and maintain internal controls and financial policies aligned with best practices and grantor expectations.
Collaborate with programs to align financial strategy with programmatic goals.
Prepare and present financial reports to executive leadership board of directors and funders.
Manage audits with external auditors and regulatory agencies.
Supervise finance staff and foster a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
Create and execute a facilities plan aimed at optimizing working capital and supporting long-term sustainability.
Directs and manages the revenue cycle activities including charge capture charge master health information management billing and collections account adjudication and revenue cycle compliance.
Oversees the management and coordination of all fiscal reporting activities for the organization including revenue/expense and balance sheet reports. Directs the production of monthly reports as well as financial statements and cash flow projections for use by the Executive Team and the Board of Directors.
Responsible for integrity of the organizations internal control structure to safeguard financial assets of the organization. Ensures all financial practices systems activities and records are in compliance with applicable government and regulatory requirements as well as contractual and funding sources standards and obligations.
Ensures availability of financial resources to meet organizations current and future needs through oversight and management of organizations investments liabilities assets and receivables. Advises President of significant changes in various factors such as markets tax laws regulatory environment revenues or costs which could necessitate changes or adjustments in overall financial plans and strategies.
Oversees the management and initiatives of the facilities and procurement.
Serves as the Leader of the Finance committee

Required Qualifications
Proven experience as a CFO or senior financial leader in a nonprofit or public sector organization.
7 years of experience as a CFO of VP of Finance
Extensive knowledge of grant management especially in Early Childhood Education (ECE).
Strong understanding of federal (e.g. Head Start CCDF) state and city funding streams.
Demonstrated success in financial compliance reporting and audit readiness.
CPA MBA or equivalent advanced degree preferred.
Exceptional leadership communication and analytical skills.

Preferred Qualifications:
Proven experience working with financial systems and grant management platforms
Strong understanding of OMB Uniform Guidance and federal compliance requirements
Ability to interpret and communicate complex financial data in a clear actionable way for non-financial audiences
Excellent communication skills with the ability to present information effectively in person virtually and in written formats

Compensation & Benefits
Compensation Range: $185000 $200000 annually
Paid Time Off: 22 accrued PTO days per year
