POSITION DESCRIPTION:
Southeastern Regional Technical Vocational High School seeks a passionate and dedicated Long-term Substitute to teach High School Biology and Environmental Science. The ideal candidate will inspire students through student-centered engaging instruction foster a love of science and support student success in accordance with Massachusetts curriculum standards.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Develop and implement Universal Design for Learning (UDL) lesson plans that encourage learner-centered student-owned educational experiences.
- Create a classroom environment of high expectations that is safe supportive and inclusive.
- Use a variety of instructional strategies and technologies to support and differentiate learning.
- Assess and monitor student progress; provide timely and constructive feedback.
- Communicate effectively with students parents/families and colleagues.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelors degree in Biology
- Valid Massachusetts teaching licensure in Biology
- Strong classroom management and organizational skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Commitment to fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment
- Vocational high school experience preferred
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Licensure in Biology preferred.
