WORK SCHEDULE

40 hours per week. May be required to work additional hours as needed to complete assignment or project. May require flexible work schedule.

SUMMARY

Manages and aids in analyzing planning research and development of organizations objectives and strategic plans in order to achieve business opportunities growth and financial profitability. Manages and coordinates activities and negotiates with representatives of real estate private enterprise other Native corps in the Kodiak area and industrial organizations and community leaders with concerning Ouzinkie Native Corporations property. Develops plans to achieve growth and financial profitability via acquisitions mergers and/or divestitures. Oversees and contributes to the development and research of building on company strengths identifying potential new markets and business opportunities increasing share of market and obtaining a competitive position in the industry.General land management duties to assure ONC lands are protected and all uses are approved.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • GIS System- Coordinate with Christina Coulter to assure all land transactions and uses are entered into the GIS land database.
  • Extensive Knowledge of GIS systems.
  • Coordinate with Afognak Native Corp. Lands & Security to issue and administer any necessary land use permits and/or leases (Hunting guides microwave towers Navy Seals etc.).
  • Maintain and manage hunting cabins and vehicles.
  • Plan Prepare & coordinate the future exit of Trans-Pac operations
  • Plan Prepare & Execute how we are going to maintain ONC camp assets and infrastructure on Afognak Island.
  • Complete 14c land transactions with the City and State.
  • Manage ADF&G cooperative Agreement for elk and bear.
  • Land security and trespass management.
  • Property tax monitoring review annual tax invoice from KIB.
  • Monitor and report any subsurface uses to Konaig.
  • Manage special projects as assigned (Maintenance upkeep repair of ONC assets on Afognak Island contaminated soil cleanup roads clearing brush cutting etc.).
  • Manage RS-2477 and 17b easement across ONC lands.
  • Contaminated sites cleanup and monitoring.
  • Secure and manage NRCS grants for reforestation thinning pruning road closures wildlife improvements etc. on Afognak and Spruce Island. Timber Stand Improvement efforts.
  • Secure and manage USDA grants as it pertains to ONC lands management.
  • Manage Koncor Camp when sales and lease are completed.
  • Monitor road use agreement and closed roads on Afognak.
  • Confers with department staff and reviews activity and operating reports.
  • Maintain regular and punctual attendance.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Oversees staff engaged in activities as needed.


Requirements

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • 3 to 5 years similar land management experience.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS

  • Must be able to work independently with little or no supervision be exceedingly well organized and flexible.
  • Knowledge and ability to work with other local native corporations on issues of common concern.
  • Advanced computer skills including Microsoft Software (Word Excel Access and PowerPoint) and other software as required.
  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment with the ability to make decisions in that environment.
  • Ability to work as a functioning member of a team.
  • Must be detail-oriented and have the ability to multi-task.
  • Demonstrate accuracy and thoroughness; monitor own work to ensure quality.
  • Proven ability to exercise mature judgment specifically in recognizing and respecting the confidential nature of corporate and personnel matters.

EDUCATION

  • Minimum education Bachelors Degree or equivalent experience.

DRIVING REQUIREMENT

  • Must have or be able to attain a valid state drivers license and be insurable on the companys automobile insurance policy.
  • Driving may be required when traveling and/or short occasional amounts of local driving. The expected driving time is less than 50%.

TRAVEL

Travel required up to 50% as needed locally around and between Anchorage and Ouzinkie and ONC properties to fulfill job duties. Some additional travel may be needed.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Position consists of using hands/fingers handling reaching with hands and arms talking hearing and seeing up close at a distance along the periphery with depth perception and the ability to focus; occasional walking or standing bending kneeling stooping crouching and lifting boxes weighing up to 30 pounds. Moderate to extended periods of office work. May be assigned occasional to moderate periods of analytical tasks requiring extensive reasoning abilities. WORK ENVIRONMENT

Work is performed indoors and outdoors. Work performed indoors is in a professional office setting and in some locations with a wide variety of people in different functions personalities and abilities. Work performed outdoors may be in many different conditions include adverse conditions and inclement weather such as high humidity heat cold high wind rain and various local conditions.

Exposure to sharp objects and possible exposure to some heat loud noise chemicals lead and vibrations is possible. ONC strictly adheres to the Occupational Safety and Health Standards (OSHA) regulations. Use of personal protective equipment dependent on the task is required.
