Conduct comprehensive examinations of digital and electronic media in a variety of criminal offenses to include child exploitation crimes against persons and property crimes; examine computer hard disk files floppy drives etc.; restore recoverable deleted files and accesses password protected and secured files; analyze electronic media boot record data system configuration and operation command files; identify evidence of crimes prepare and present reports and findings; perform other duties as assigned.
Starting salary is $34.98 per hour/$72758 annual.

Essential Duties:
Conduct forensic examination of digital and electronic media to include but not limited to computer hard drives external drives cell phones network devices information systems and any other device that stores digital media.
Collect process preserve analyze present and archive computer related evidence.
Retrieve data; recover passwords find deleted and/or hidden information; execute verification tests of forensic software and hardware.
Conduct Video Forensic Analyst as needed with the recovery and enhancement of security/surveillance video and audio recordings.
Generate reports on findings.
Testify in court on cases.
Disassemble and reassemble electronic data or communication devices.
Work with investigators and prosecutors to assist in the preparation of search warrants investigative information and cases for court purposes.
Collect transport label and secure evidence from crime scenes and/or during forensic processing.
Prepare and present a variety of training programs.
Maintain a computer forensics lab; obtain and equip facilities; develop procedures and policies.
Execute verification tests to independently validate functionality.
Cultivate and maintain positive relationships with Agency and County staff.
Keep informed on computer forensics and multimedia digital evidence technology and practices by attending workshops and educational programs or reading specialized literature.
Attend meetings and participate in various teams when needed.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Knowledge Skills and Abilities:
Ability to act as a representative of the Sheriffs Office to the public.
Thorough knowledge of the principles practices and techniques of computer forensics and multimedia digital evidence.
Knowledge of multiple operating systems.
Ability to establish priorities and organize workload effectively and efficiently to accommodate numerous deadlines.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with other staff; successfully communicate with other staff members County agencies and members of the public; and work as a team.
Ability to maintain a pleasant and productive working atmosphere.
Ability to respond properly in emergency situations and complete assignments under pressure.
Ability to operate relevant computer systems including hardware and software and office machines.
Education and Experience:
Bachelors degree from an accredited college or university in Computer Forensics or closely-related field.
Work experience with mobile and/or computer forensics preferred.
Certifications in Cellebrite Certified Operator (CCO) certification and Cellebrite Certified Physical Analyst (CCPA) certification through Cellebrite Mobile Synchronization preferred or ability to obtain within the first two years of employment.
Computer forensic training and certifications including EnCase Certified Examiner (EnCE) certification Certified Forensic Computer Examiner (CFCE) GIACCertified ForensicExaminer (GCFE) Basic Computer Evidence Recovery Training (BCERT) Advanced Forensic Training (AFT) preferred.
Selected Candidate:
Must be 18 years of age or older and a U.S. citizen with 10 years of verifiable US residency.
Must have a valid Class D or Class C non-commercial drivers license with no more than three (3) points and a relatively clean driving record with no convictions for DUI or DWI.
Must pass comprehensive background investigation and criminal record check (cannot have any criminal convictions on record); medical exam and drug/alcohol screening; polygraph exam; and psychological screening.
Must provide handwriting sample for review.
Must appear before and receive a favorable recommendation from Oral Interview Board.
Visible tattoos are permitted if they are not offensive indecent extremist racist or sexist. No visible tattoos will be permitted on the face or head.
Must possess a history and exhibit the characteristics of honesty reliability integrity and interpersonal criminal conviction(s) and/or arrest(s) may be grounds for disqualification.
