About the Role

The role of a peer support worker has been developed specifically for young people (age 18 - 25 years) who have lived experience of mental health/emotional health needs and are in recovery. The peer support worker will work alongside CAMHS Practitioners to help individuals set recovery goals develop plans engage in activities and build self-advocacy skills fostering recovery through mutual learning and a shared sense of connection. They will play an active role in promoting positive mental health through the services social media community engagement training and will raise awareness and establish an inclusive approach for young people who require the support of the service and also help meet the needs of Nottinghams diverse communities.

About You

The ideal candidate will have:

Have a lived experience of mental health challenges

Have a vested interest in promoting positive mental health

Be computer literate and will be willing to undertake training to enhance their skill set

A DBS enhanced check for a regulated activity is required for this post.
