We are seeking a proactive and skilled Support Technician to join our Maintenence Engineering team here at Shirebrook. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing maintenance support for distribution systems and equipment ensuring efficient and reliable operations. This is a semi-skilled maintenance role requires attention to detail the ability to work collaboratively and closely with the maintenance technician team within a fast-paced environment. There will be the opportunity to develop your skills whilst in role and potential future opportunity to go through an apprenticeship scheme.
This role operates on a 4 on 4 off shift pattern with a rotation of days and nights
Key Responsibilities:
Technical Support:
- Provide maintenance support for distribution systems including conveyor belts sorting machines and automated storage systems. Working and supporting closely with the maintenance technicians as well as the ability to work autonomously.
- Troubleshoot and resolve simple issues promptly to minimise downtime.
Maintenance and Repairs:
- Perform regular inspections and preventive maintenance on distribution equipment with appropriate support where required.
- Support in ensuring all equipment is maintained according to manufacturer guidelines and safety standards.
System Monitoring:
- Monitor the performance of distribution systems to identify potential issues.
- Report any irregularities or potential problems to the maintenance supervisor.
Safety and Compliance:
- Adhere to all health and safety regulations and company policies.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and compliance checks.
Documentation and Reporting:
- Maintain and record detailed records through CMMS of all support and maintenance activities.
Collaborative Efforts:
- Work closely with the distribution and logistics teams to support seamless operations.
- Assist with the implementation of new systems and technologies within the distribution centre.
Qualifications :
What we are looking for:
- A passion for a career in engineering
- Confident working at height and in small spaces
- Able to work well within a team
- Confident communicator
Desirable but not essential:
- A qualification in either Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or prior experience in a semi-skilled maintenance roles - This is an entry role into engineering so while a qualification or experience is desirable it is not necessary provided you have a passion for engineering.
