Gorman & Company is seeking an experienced Catering Event Manager to lead sales and coordination for weddings social celebrations and special events at our award-winning downtown Rockford hotel. From dream weddings to elegant galas and milestone gatherings this role plays a vital part in creating unforgettable experiences for our guests.
As the Catering Event Manager youll work closely with the Director of Sales and General Manager to grow event business deliver exceptional service and ensure every detail is executed seamlessly. Youll join a dynamic hospitality team at one of Rockfords premier venues featuring modern spaces a scenic riverfront location and signature Embassy Suites service.
What Youll Do

What Youll Do
- Lead all aspects of social and wedding event sales from initial inquiry to flawless event execution.
- Develop creative event concepts and customized packages to meet client needs and exceed expectations.
- Build lasting relationships with couples planners and community partners to drive new business and referrals.
- Conduct site tours tastings and detailed planning meetings to bring clients visions to life.
- Collaborate with culinary and banquet teams to ensure seamless event operations.
- Partner with the Director of Sales and General Manager on marketing promotions and social media initiatives.
- Represent the Embassy Suites brand and Gorman & Company at bridal shows networking events and community functions.
What Were Looking For
- Bachelors degree in hospitality marketing or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- 5 years of experience in catering wedding or social event sales within a full-service or upscale venue.
- Strong organizational communication and customer service skills with an eye for detail.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule (TuesdaySaturday) including evenings weekends and holidays as needed.
- Valid drivers license and insurable driving record required.
