Teaching Assistant (90 hours) for SWRK 342 Social Work Gender and Sexual Diversity (Section 001 CRN 4851) Mondays 8:35-11:25 LEA 14 Winter 2026 Term.
Knowledge of the following is required:
- The field of health and social service delivery with and to gay lesbian bisexual and twospirit (glbts) people and knowledge of the current gaps in access and service delivery to these individuals and communities in Canada.
- Health and psychosocial issues of glbts people and avenues for improving treatment options to these populations.
- Health and psychosocial issues faced by glbts people and how these are currently.
- being addressed (with particular attention to the response of the health and allied health professions).
- Current met and unmet needs for services to glbts people as well as service modalities which would best address these needs.
- Role of health and allied health professionals in addressing individual and community needs as well as the record of the health and allied health professions in the area of glbts services.
- Critiques of traditional practice models in relation to the needs of glbts people.
