About IPSD

Caterpillars Industrial Power Systems Division (IPSD) designs tests and manufactures 0.5 to 18L engines that not only power Caterpillar machines but also power over 5000 other applications including Marine Petroleum Industrial Applications Electric Generators and Locomotives. Caterpillars company strategy includes sustainability as one of four focus areas and IPSD is engaged and actively preparing green energy solutions for the future.

Job Summary:

We are seeking a Senior Marketing Communications Consultant. This is a critical senior-level marketing position within the Industrial Power Systems Division. The role is part of a small high-impact team supporting multiple brands across engine marketing aftermarket solutions rental programs and more.

The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and executing a wide range of strategies plans and campaigns. This position requires a self-starter with a strong background in campaign and project management digital marketing and a proven ability to deliver results through effective marketing programs and execution.

While not required it is highly beneficial for the candidate to have familiarity with medium to large engine applications and the industries and customers that utilize themsuch as construction industrial and material handling.

What You Will Do:

  • Develop and execute engaging marketing campaigns and initiatives global and regional in scope to drive audience awareness and consideration of Caterpillar and Perkins Engines and surrounding service offerings demonstrating clear ROI and support to business objectives.

  • Create impactful content for Caterpillar and Perkins digital channels including blogs social media and web pages ensuring content authoring is aligned with SEO and AI search best practices.

  • Manage integrated campaigns across Paid Earned Shared and Owned media to support business and marketing objectives; evaluate metrics to monitor review and improve effectiveness.

  • Lead marketing efforts to articulate and communicate product and service value propositionsto target audiences.

  • Work closely with product teams sales marketing communications consultants digital teams agencies and other stakeholders to produce cohesive and compelling communications.

  • Demonstrate creativity foresight business judgement and outstanding engine industry marketing/distribution knowledge along with the sensitivity to customer financial impact.

  • Manage the compliance of assignments and remain current with new industry trends customer engagement and changing consumer behaviors affecting the competitive environment.

  • Communicate effectively across product industry distributor dealer and/or customer audiences to gain understanding and acceptance of ideas and recommendations and to manage expectations.

  • Collaborate effectively with individuals and teams from diverse backgrounds and cultures both within the organization and externally to build productive relationships influence outcomes and resolve differences constructively.

  • Monitors and communicates vendor effectiveness reliability and performance.

  • Influences existing and new vendor relationships and the approved vendor list.

  • Interprets documents detailing service provisions and financial arrangements.

  • Explains case studies of effective and ineffective partnering relationships and lessons learned.

  • Advises others on the issues and considerations for working with new vendors suppliers or partners.

Promotion and Marketing Communications: Extensive knowledge of different promotional and marketing communication techniques; ability to use different marketing channels and tools in combination to focus on how a business communicates a message to the market.

  • Analyzes the psychology of marketing communication and incorporates the routes to persuasion in the marketing plan.

  • Compares and contrasts the benefits and drawbacks of different types of marketing communication techniques.

  • Delivers various promotional and marketing communications that engage the target audience respond to their questions and concerns and produce specific outcomes and impact.

  • Develops a clear and complete understanding of needs and problems through careful listening probing reflecting and summarizing.

  • Develops a marketing communication strategy that focuses on promoting the distinctive value proposition of the product or service being offered.

  • Guides the team members in developing a marketing communication plan and strategy.

$126000.00 - $189000.00

Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors job level market locationjob-related knowledge skills individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
