Job Summary
We are seeking an Aerospace Engineer for the KBR location at the Anniston Army Depot (ANAD) facility in Anniston AL. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing technical support for areas of KBR responsibility within the overhaul operations conducted at the Anniston Army Depot (ANAD) on the AGT1500 turbine engine.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Lead a small engineering team in both project and daily tasks to ensure the team meets the program deliverables and schedules.
- Perform assignments requiring the use and application of standard engineering or scientific methods and tools and application of technical problem solving and other key KBR engineering and project leadership skills.
- Write technical documentation and specifications.
- Document results and conclusions and incorporate findings into formal specifications and instructions.
- Prepare and deliver detailed technical presentations to program leadership.
- Participate in establishing operating procedures or best-known methods.
- Provide technical consultations to others and contribute to technical project teams.
- Lead and/or support root cause investigations.
- Interface effectively with the Honeywell-Phoenix Engineering team and U.S. Government personnel.
- Work hands on in a shop environment of engines and components.
- Balance multiple priorities supporting program objectives while meeting deadlines.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- US citizenship
- Must have a valid social security card drivers license and birth certificate.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain base access and/or security clearance.
- Must have a Bachelor of Science degree in Aerospace/Electrical/Mechanical Engineering discipline from an ABET University.
- 7 years of aerospace engineering experience preferably with turbine engine background.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with troubleshooting aerospace operating and production systems such as lube pumps fuel controls component test stands and turbine engine test cells.
- Experience with instrumentation and controls relating aerospace test facilities and turbine engine controls evaluation.
- Experience with AGT1500 turbine engine.
- Project Engineering experience including leading less experienced engineers helping grow teams coordinating new business with customers assisting in aligning manpower resources to accomplish key objectives and reporting status to technical leads and project managers.
