A buy-up option is available for Medical insurance which allows you to elect additional coverage through a payroll deduction. As aRegistered Nurseat Digestive Health you will utilize your skills and expertise to provide intra-operative care to patients. You will demonstrate proficiency in acute care nursing and possess the skills and ability to provide top notch patient care.

Responsibilities:

Patient Care Technician (Willing to train however some medical background/experience is required)

Schedule: 40 hours a week Monday through Friday no weekends or holidays.

This is a high-volume surgery center serving 30-40 patients a day.

Responsible for rendering professional care to patients undergoing surgical procedures within the Center in accordance with established procedures. Functions cooperatively with physicians and team members exhibiting teamwork characteristics. May be responsible for ensuring proper care and use of equipment. May transport escort patients in wheelchair. Assists with cleanliness of recovery room and with recovery room turnover.

  • Disinfect and make patient beds after discharge
  • Disinfect monitor cords B/P cuffs clip boards and other accessories
  • Escort patients to car either ambulatory or via wheelchair
  • Assist patients to dress when needed
  • Put patient charts in order for nurses
  • Prepare pathology specimens for pick-up
  • Stock bedside cubicles with supplies including 02 and suction supplies.
  • Refill blanket warmer with blankets when needed
  • Refill refrigerator when needed
  • Add paper to printer (doctor printer) when needed
  • Discontinue IVs
  • Take patients off the monitors
  • Check charts for completeness (flag missed signatures ect) prior to charts leaving PACU area.
  • Assist with scanning paper medical records into computerized chart. Audit what is scanned in for completeness and accuracy ensuring they were scanned into the correct patient chart
  • Any additional duties deemed necessary by Center Director or Assistant

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Medical background/experience required
  • BLS Certification
