What youll do

Responsibilities

Reporting to the Campus Principal you will be responsible for developing and implementing strategies that optimize campus and facility usage for both community and industry engagement and revenue generation. Through leadership in event coordination external partnerships and communications you will enhance the campus experience promote the College as a destination for conferences and events ensuring the successful delivery of signature and campus-wide events. You will serve as the primary liaison between campus staff and the Public Affairs team for internal communications and marketing collaboration with Public Affairs you will take a lead role with external campus communications using the approved channels (i.e. Connect digital signage social media campus newsletter).

Working collaboratively with campus leadership and internal and external stakeholders you will support the Colleges mission by creating inclusive impactful and well-executed engagement opportunities that reflect institutional values and priorities.

This role requires flexibility including regular evening and weekend work to support event coordination and campus activities. As a result working hours and days will adjust due to events.

Qualifications

Qualifications and Occupational Experience:

  • The minimum educational qualification for this position is an undergraduate degree or diploma in areas such as Business Marketing Public Relations or Communications.

  • You have a minimum of five (5) years (full-time equivalent) of recent and related occupational experience in Event Management Marketing Public Relations Community Development or a related field.

  • Experience planning and executing events of various sizes in collaboration with internal teams and external partners and organizations.

  • Experience guiding and functionally leading teams or project teams.

  • Experience identifying and creating opportunities for revenue generation through initiatives such as advertising and events.

  • Strong presentation facilitation and communication skills with experience writing for various formats and audiences.

  • Experience leading committees would be considered an asset.

  • Experience with event management software and project management tools/methods would be considered an asset.

  • Proficiency in the Windows environment including the full suite of Microsoft Office products and e-mail.

  • Familiarity with financial processes including purchase orders (DPOs) contracts and managing expenditures or obligations.

  • Ability to assist with physical tasks including lifting carrying setting up and tearing down event materials and equipment and maintaining stamina for extended periods of activity.
